The brain follows this principle. Once the goal is clear to the brain, it kicks in and gets the work done for you. The question then comes to mind, how does the brain perceive what is a goal for us? The answer is simple: whatever you keep as top priority. Every priority or something you focus on significantly is considered by the brain as an important goal.

Our brain has got a small pencil size organ called Reticular Activation System or RAS, which starts close to the top of the spinal column and extends upward a few inches. This is the gate of the conscious mind. All the sensory data (except smell which goes directly to the brain’s emotional center) gets filtered through here and goes to the conscious mind or awareness. It’s a miraculous little organ about the size of our little finger.

Recent scientific findings suggest our subconscious mind can process around 400 billion bits of information every second. Yet, our conscious mind is aware of only 2000 bits. The 2000 bits we are aware of, primarily involve information about our body, survival and things which are important to us.

Solutions come to the conscious mind filtered through the 400 billion bits of information. Every human being gets their insight or ideas in a similar fashion, be it a great business leader or a politician, scientist or manager.

Now the question is: why do some people get amazing ideas, insights, solutions easily, while many of us are not able to achieve this even when we keep things on priority? The answer is what’s the focus in the RAS, the filter mechanism of our brain?

The RAS Program simply means whatever you keep the top priority on top focus is considered to be important. Over time, the brain filters out from the environment all information your Client needs to get their work done, problem solved, or behavior changed successfully. This is one of the most amazing brain functions you can leverage for their growth. This is nature’s built-in mechanisms to help your Client succeed at anything they do. The moment you keep something on priority, the brain (RAS) puts all its energy and resources to work on it, uses all data, information, knowledge available to help your Client get the top priority. So, the secret to achieving anything is to keep it on priority, and focus on it massively.
